It blends into the lakeside and mountains as a beautiful old house and barn here should, and walking in you feel the warp of the floors and tilt of the doors and window frames as the part of history they are—and then you notice the soft music piping through the parlor and dining areas downstairs and take in the simple and elegant decor, which somehow hits the exact right notes for feminine and masculine sensibilities. Rose is an incredible host and chef. Her breakfasts were divine—eggs and cheese and vegetables and fruit and almond French toast with a creme brûlée-like middle and the crispiest, most savory scalloped potatoes. Herbs, fruit and veggies fresh from the garden. Lightly fried and seasoned chorizo and hams. Bottomless coffee. Iced water and succulents on the table that looks out to the mountains. Perfection. We stayed in room Number 1 with a gorgeous and medium firm (again, perfect) bed and tons of drawer space, two easy chairs, a TV with spectrum and Roku, and terrific en suite bathroom. Same view to the lovely mountains that change as you watch the clouds drift over them. 1 minute to the beach on the lake. 5 minutes to the marina and Ebenezer’s. 10 minutes to Lovell, 20 minutes to Fryeburg (where we had cell reception—AT&T disappointed us in Lovell, though the Inn has perfect WiFi). The whole area is gorgeous—don’t miss the Hemlock Covered Bridge, getting out on the lake, and driving north to Evans Notch and doing some hiking in the White Mountain National Forest. We went by Bickford Slides and the historic house there—Blueberry Mountain—though most people seemed to be into the Bald Faces. The real star, though, was the Inn itself and Rose’s warm hospitality. She even surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine for our anniversary. We will definitely be back, and we feel so grateful to have found this gem. Thank you, Rose and family!

Cute quintessential New England B&B!! Rose the proprietor met us at the door welcoming us and showed us common areas we could use along with bringing us to our room. A stunningly decorated king room with a sitting area and private bathroom. The bed was very comfortable! The detail to every possible need during our stay was met! Refrigerator, toiletries, wifi, and the most cushy soft towels in the bathroom!! 3-4 others stayed the night and there was no noise! We appreciated the peacefulness ! We asked for suggestions for a close by restaurant for dinner. Ebenezer's was suggested and was Amazing! A hot New England breakfast was served in the morning! Delicious ❤️
